Throughout the show, Lorraine dropped hints that the celebrity in question is a popular theatre star.

A picture of an exotic beach also popped up on screen - which was another nod to the contestant's past TV work.

Appearing on the ITV show, Amber said: "Today is the first day it feels real.

"I can't really ice skate, my secondary school went ice skating and I didn't go.

"I'm 27 and I'm still asking for permission from my parents."

The Love Island star said she's feeling the "nerves" ahead of the show but said she was thrilled to be taking part, six years after finding fame on the ITV2 dating show.

Amber said: "I would definitely say that I'm an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them, I don't want the Adrenalin to get the better of me."

She said: "I can count on one hand how many times I've ice skated."

The star added: "I'll be in safe hands with an amazing pro - that I don't know."

"I was elated and over the moon even when I got the call for Dancing on Ice because I hadn't been on tell for so long. I thought that ship had sailed.

"When I spoke to the producers they said I was doing so well in the industry and I thought all my hard work had paid off."

She will be in good company with a host of other famous faces already confirmed to be taking place.

Former S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt, 42, has also signed up.

A source said: “Hannah is raring to go for Dancing On Ice and is working hard in training.

“Things have been tough with Hannah over the past 12 months and she hopes that appearing on the show will give her a much needed boost.

“Hannah is a seasoned performer and a great dancer so there is a good chance that she could go far in the series, as long as she nails the skating.”

Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney also announced she had signed up on Wednesday's This Morning.

She told Holly Willoughby and Ben Shephard: "I'm really looking forward to going to an ice rink with my son and actually being able to skate and not have to use the penguins they give you to help you stay upright."

She added: "I've had to wear my boots around the house... I haven't stepped on the ice yet.

"I am stepping into the unknown here. I don't know how I will feel. But I am very excited.

"I'm nervous and excited about doing it."

It comes after boxing champ Ricky Hatton, 44, was revealed as the first confirmed celebrity.

Appearing on This Morning earlier this week, he said: "If I can hold my nerve in the boxing ring I should be able to hold my nerve in the ice rink. I like setting new challenges and keeping myself busy."
