CORONATION Street killer Stephen Reid will have an explosive confrontation with his family as his sick crimes are exposed.

The serial murderer - who is played by actor Todd Boyce in the ITV soap - will have to face the furious Platts once they discover his sordid secrets, The Sun can reveal.

Viewers know that he has killed Leo Thompkins and his dad Teddy, and then drugged and drowned businessman Rufus.

Stephen also secretly took thousands from his own mother Audrey by selling her house from under her - which niece Sarah Platt has only just discovered.

He has also terrorised Carla Connor, spiking her with LSD in an attempt to drive her into a mental breakdown and steal control of Underworld from her.

But now with Leo’s body found, Carla’s on the warpath about being spiked and Sarah knows about his schemes, time is running out for Stephen.

Actress Tina O’Brien revealed to The Sun how Sarah will be involved in an explosive confrontation with Stephen and the Platts as his secrets are revealed.

And now actor Todd has teased that Stephen could kill again.

“I think he could,” he told The Sun at the Inside Soap Awards. 

“He’s wiley and he’s dangerous because he’s not a trained killer but he is resourceful and intelligent.”

But despite all the danger he faces, facing up to his mum Audrey and sister Gail would be the ultimate consequence for him. 

“If they find out what he’s been up to, that’s going to be the worst possible thing that could happen to him,” he said.

“His entire journey from being adopted out is that there’s been a sense of abandonment and there’s been a sense of wanting to please his mum.
