Inside Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver’s rise to fortune – from playing a receptionist to £100k reality star
CORONATION Street star Sue Cleaver has had a remarkable career - going from minor roles to one of the most in-demand stars on TV.
One of her first was in David Jason police drama A Touch of Frost, where she appeared as a receptionist.
Remarkably, given her decade of service to the soap, she had a small part in Corrie back in 1994, as a guest character known only as Sister Preece.
Of course Sue, 60, is best known for playing feisty Eileen Grimshaw on the ITV soap, appearing regularly since 2000.
She was a firm favourite on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in 2022, when she was paid a reported £115,000 to appear.
Many viewers were devastated when Sue was the third contestant to be voted off the series.

The Corrie legend has continued to make headlines because of her dramatic weight loss, which has seen her go from a size 16 to a size 12.
She later revealed to Prima Mag that her weight loss journey began when she was in the jungle.
“I lost some weight in the jungle, but I’m not obsessing over diets: life is hard enough! There’s always going to be outside pressure and unfair expectations placed on women, but I refuse to get pulled into it,” she said.
Sue added how happy she is with her life right now, saying that she has been thriving in her fifties, which were the happiest years of life.
