THE winners of this year's Inside Soap Awards have been revealed - with one soap cleaning up.

The cast of EastEnders will no doubt be celebrating this evening after scooping the gong for Best Soap.

In total the BBC One show bagged six out of the 15 awards up for grabs, winning more categories than their ITV and Channel 4 rivals.

More than 90,000 soap fans voted ahead of the star-studded ceremony in London.

Danielle Harold won Best Actress for her portrayal of Lola Pearce, who tragically died of cancer in heartbreaking scenes earlier this year.

Her on-screen husband Jamie Borthwick landed Best Actor for his role as Jay Brown.

The pair, who were at the centre of Lola's brain tumour story, won again, this time for Best Storyline for 'Loving and Losing Lola'.

Best Young Performer was awarded to Isabella Brown for her incredible work as Lola's daughter Lexi Pearce.

Coronation Street followed in second place, with the show taking home four awards.

Channique Sterling-Brown was crowned Best Newcomer for playing Dee-Dee Bailey, while Todd Boyce bagged Best Villain for his role as serial killer Stephen.

Maureen Lipman who stars witty Evelyn Plummer in the ITV soap took home the title of Best Comic Performance.

Corrie also won Best Showstopper for their acid attack storyline earlier this year.

Elsewhere, Emmerdale's Dingle clan won Best Family Dominic Brunt and Mark Charnock (Paddy and Marlon Dingle) bagging Best Partnership.

Hollyoaks' Nikki Sanderson who plays Maxine Minniver was awarded the prestigious Outstanding Achievement gong.
