LAURA Kuenssberg has not appeared on her BBC politics show for three weeks, leaving fans with questions about her whereabouts.

The broadcaster and journalist, who presents her flagship 60-minute morning programme Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg, is taking a break — here we take a look at why.

Where is Laura Kuenssberg today?

Laura Kuenssberg has taken a break from the BBC One programme following the Party Conference season.

Laura was first replaced on her October 8, 2023, show, where The Sun exclusively revealed she was missing for "personal reasons".

With the full support of BBC bosses, Laura was given time off and missed the episode as the show travelled to Liverpool for the Labour Party Conference.

She was also replaced on Sunday, October 15, and Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Laura last hosted her show on Sunday, October 1, 2023, having previously taken a break on September 23, 2023.

She shared her apologies on X, formerly known as Twitter, posting: "Sorry everyone, I can’t make #bbclaurak or #newscast this weekend — but don’t miss @vicderbyshire in the chair at 9 tomorrow on @BBCOne"

Who has replaced Laura Kuenssberg?

TV presenter Victoria Derbyshire has taken over Laura's hosting duties for the past few weeks.

Before her first show on October 8, 2023, Victoria took to X and said: ";Good morning from Liverpool :)

"Am standing in for #BBCLauraK today We’ll talk live to Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and Transport Secretary Mark Harper."

Victoria also stepped in on October 15.

On Sunday, October 22, 2023, it was revealed on BBC Breakfast that the BBC Radio 5 Live presenter would be at the helm for the third consecutive week.

She gave a preview of what viewers could expect at 9am, revealing a chat with Israel's former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, as well as Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick among others.

When is Laura Kuenssberg back on BBC?

Many fans who miss Laura and her presenting style have been left asking where the political reporter has gone.

As Victoria has filled in for Laura for three weeks now, it may be some time before she is seen again.

No concrete date has yet been given for Laura's return.

As of October 23, 2023, Laura has not been active on X since October 1.

Who is Laura Kuenssberg?

Laura Juliet Kuenssberg, born in Italy on August 8, 1976, is a British journalist and the first ever woman to hold the position of political editor at the BBC, after succeeding Nick Robinson.

Laura grew up in Glasgow with her brother, and diplomat sister Joanna, who was the High Commissioner of the UK to Mozambique from 2014 until 2018.

She studied for a degree in history at University of Edinburgh, where she met her future husband.

After working for NBC in the States and Washington DC, Laura returned to Britain and went on to work on cable TV channels in Glasgow, Channel 4, and the BBC.

In September 2011, Laura left the BBC for the newly created role as business editor with ITV News, and broadcast her first News At Ten segment in August 2013.

She returned to the BBC to present Newsnight in February 2014 — and was appointed as the political editor in July 2015.

In December 2021 she confirmed she is stepping down as the BBC's Political Editor for a "senior presenting and reporting role" at the Corporation.

An announcement followed in March 2022 that Laura would be replacing Andrew Marr as the host of BBC One's flagship Sunday morning politics show from September 2023.
