Coronation Street star lands new role in huge soap five years after exit
FORMER Coronation Street star Tisha Merry has landed a role in Doctors.
The actress, 30, is currently playing a character called Serena Bradley on the popular BBC One soap.
Serena arrives on the scene and it soon transpires that she enjoyed a ‘friends with benefits’ relationship with Bear (Dex Lee) – leaving Claudia fuming.
Tisha previously played Steph Britton on Coronation Street from 2013-2017, with a brief return stint in 2018.
Her character left to live in Portugal following the murder of her on-screen brother Luke at the hands of twisted killer Pat Phelan.
She previously said leaving the soap was the "best thing" that happened to her and launched her YouTube channel in 2020.

But she did say she would be open to returning, revealing: “I didn’t leave to never go back. Like I said, I left for a little break. Corrie was, hands down, the best years of my life.”
The star continued: “I did a lot of growing up on that show. I enjoyed it. I… it was something that I had never really done before and I made some lifetime friends.
“I met some incredible people and I would never say never to going back. I think the older I get the more I’m like, I’ve done the things I want to do now, I’m happier to settle and stay in one place.”
She added: “Some of my proudest moments were at Corrie and, yeah, I would never ever say never to going back.

“But I’m really, really glad I took the decision to make a break and kind of find out who I am. It was one of the best things I’ve done.”
A year after she left Corrie Tisha got together with her former co-star Alan Halsall, 39, who has played Tyrone Dobbs for 25 years, and the loved-up couple now live together.
