Coronation Street fans spot something very wrong with weather during Evelyn Plummer scene

CORONATION STREET fans noticed something strange about the weather in recent scenes with Evelyn Plummer.

The fan favourite, played by Maureen Lipman, was seen bundling up against the cold as Brits in real life faced a heatwave.

In an episode which aired on Monday, September 11, Evelyn's boiler broke and she was left shivering.

The grandmother had to pile on the layers, resorting to wearing two cardigans, fluffy socks and covering herself in blankets to prevent herself from freezing.

But Brits across the UK were sweltering in temperatures up to 33C, with the longest September heatwave on record.

Viewers took to social media to complain about the difference between the weather in the show and reality, which threw them off while watching the episode.

One person wrote: "Evelyn b**ching about being too cold during a heatwave is just peak Evelyn.

"And Roy describing a heatwave as unusually clement weather is just peak Roy.

Another joked: "Evelyn on Corrie saying the boiler is on the blink, the flat is freezing and she sits in two cardies and socks …. while the rest of us in the UK have had the windows open, fans on and still sweltering ! Does she live in a fridge?"

A third watcher agreed: "Evelyn is cold??? It's that hot at night that I just lie on top of the bed and hope we don't have burglars."

And a fourth sarcastically said: "Poor Evelyn, shivering in her flat with a hot water bottle & under a woolly blanket, in this 80 degree at night seven day September heatwave."

One disgruntled fan hit out at the show bosses, saying: "Have they got Evelyn sitting in a dark flat in the middle of the day with a hot water bottle? IN SUMMER!!! F*** sake, come on!"
