Amol Rajan replaced Jeremy Paxman after he spent 29 years at the helm of University Challenge.

After watching the latest episode, BBC viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain about the new revived series.

"Amol Rajan is awful. He speaks way too fast and mumbles way too much. So sad he's ruined a previously great show."

Another added: "Try and live with the inevitability that he is different to Paxman and remember UC is about the brilliant students and not the presenters."

A third penned: "Couldn’t agree more. I gave up watching weeks ago. He’s awful."

A fourth wrote: "I've been watching it on mute and with subtitles. Makes him much easier to manage."

A fifth added: "Totally agree with you. Cannot understand a word he says. He is not my starter for Ten."

Despite some unfavourable feedback, Amol did have some supporters who thought he did a good job hosting.

One wrote: "Opposite for me. Amol has breathed much needed new life into University Challenge. Long may he continue as Host."

Another added: "I like Amol, he is great, and a vast improvement on shouty Jeremy."
