My Mum, Your Dad 2023 LIVE — Singletons in shock as new ‘bombshell’ enters the retreat with her son
ITV's brand-new dating show My Mum, Your Dad kicked off last night with presenter Davina McCall revealing the show's shock twist.
The all-new series sees single parents looking for love coming together in a country retreat - however, in a surprise to viewers their children are watching them in a secret room.
And tonight, the drama ramped up further thanks to the arrival of a new single lady - called Janey - and her son.
Hosted by Masked Singer icon Davina, each parent has been nominated by their own children, with the kids in charge of making key decisions throughout the show.
During a Q&A, McCall warned: "Yes, there are moments where kids have cushions in front of their faces. But it could be over something quite small and intimate, because they’ve never seen their parents in a date situation."
My Mum, Your Dad airs Monday to Friday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

He also confessed that his son would like to see him settle with someone where there is a long-term future.
But he also revealed that he likes intimate dates where the couple can properly speak and get to know each other.
He said: “I like dates where we can hear one another talk.
“I like picnic dates. I like being by water, so a lake or the beach or something like that. A nice basket of food overlooking some water. I think active dates are better for a second date.”

What's Davina McCall’s net worth?
According to , Davina is worth $4million – around £2.83m.
She’s not only amassed her wealth from appearing on camera but has released several books during her career.
Davina also owns a property said to be worth in excess of £8m, with a Georgian mansion worth £4.3m, a £1.5m St Tropez villa and a £1m Surrey manor in her portfolio.
And she’s released several fitness DVDs and has been the face of cosmetics brand Garnier for many years.
The presenter has also raised millions for charity, completing a seven-day triathlon to generate more than £2m for Sport Relief in 2014.
All about Davina McCall
Davina was born on October 16, 1967, in Wimbledon and shot to fame in the 1990s thanks to her work with MTV.
She was raised by her grandparents after her parents split when she was three, before moving in with her dad as a teen.
Davina started her career off as a singer, performing in a band called Lazy Bear, while still at school.
Unhappy with her lack of success in the music industry, she gave up singing and took a job at Models 1 on the men’s desk as a booker.
She then ran a restaurant for two years before briefly moving to Paris as a Moulin Rouge-style cabaret performer.
When she returned to London she worked on the nightclub scene as a hostess.
In 1992, Davina landed her first presenting role on Ray Cokes’ Most Wanted on MTV Europe, but boosted her profile in 1998 as the presenter of Channel 4‘s reality dating game show Streetmate.
She is now fronting ITV’s My Mum, Your Dad, which starts this evening at 9pm.
‘You’ve just got to let it play out’
The show doesn’t flinch from showing how difficult the process of finding love again can really be.
That often involved Davina getting submerged in the rollercoaster ride of emotions the contestants went on — and sometimes getting involved.
She said: “I don’t know if it’s made it to the show, but once I did actually say to the production team, ‘Please, let me just go and talk to this person because they were having a proper crisis’.
“I had to go in and say, ‘We chose you because you are brilliant. Please know that’.
“So I did that once. But really I shouldn’t, you know, you want to go in there and get involved, but actually you’ve got to let it play out. The more you get involved, it’s a mistake.
“And what do I know? I don’t know these people, you’ve just got to let it play out.
“I tell you what was lovely though, people come and go, there’s no evictions.
“It’s not like ‘we’re going to chuck you out’ it’s more a decision of they don’t think they’re gonna find love.
“It’s time to leave. When you’ve exhausted everybody in the house you think ‘I don’t fancy anyone, it’s actually a hard place to be’.”
Despite not trying to get too involved, the presenter did find herself being endeared to many of the contestants, including 58-year-old silver fox widower Roger.
Davina said: “What I love about Roger, and you’ll get to know this as the series goes on, is he always slightly says the wrong thing.
“It’s always a slight overshare, like saying on a date he uses his toothbrush to brush the dog’s teeth. I mean, he’s phenomenal.”
Davina: ‘I’d rather watch a hint of love’
Unlike other reality programmes where you see every gory detail, My Mum, Your Dad allows contestants a litte privacy.
Davina McCall said: “There are no cameras in the bedrooms and I think it’s important to point out that it’s different in that way.
“I’d rather watch the hint of love, a hint of something coming, you know, ‘Should I, shouldn’t I?’ A moment of tenderness, something amazing. That’s so exciting.
“But, like, jumping into bed and shagging . . . it’s sort of like, once you’ve seen it once, it doesn’t mean anything.
“Yeah, this really f***ing means something. When you see people falling and, you know, that this is serious, that’s what’s so lovely.
“This is what sets it apart, it’s that it’s not cynical, it is just about the love. It’s trying to foster an environment where love will flourish, and they did the best job ever.
“You don’t get the big wad of cash at the end. The prize is love.”
Roger’s painful revelation
Postman Roger has revealed his daughters put him up for the show after he lost his wife a year ago.
He said: “She is so thoughtful and it was just a lovely thing for her to say, “Dad, look, we understand that you’re struggling and it’s been hard and we know that you’ve got a lot of love to give and we’re OK if you were to see someone else.”
“I’m going on the show to get some confidence. I must have subconsciously wanted to meet someone by saying yes to the show.”
Roger describes himself as a “fun, loving, [and] conscientious,” person who is “struggling to get old”.
Viewers are already ‘obsessed’
Following the opening episode on Monday, fans were already saying they're hooked on the show.
This fan tweeted: “Completely obsessed with #mymumyourdad. Exactly what I thought it was going to be and @ThisisDavina is back in the best presenting role.
“It’s like Love Island and Big Brother rolled into one 🥰Love love love it
My Mum, Your Dad host Davina McCall looks incredible as she flashes her legs in tiny playsuit
Davina McCall stunned as she flashed her legs in a tiny playsuit as My Mum, Your Dad kicked off on ITV1 last night.
The 55 year-old host looked amazing as she made her debut on screen in the highly-anticipated new series.
Davina showed off her enviable pins in a white playsuit as she strutted into the retreat to meet the offspring of the daters.
Thick and fast
We now have our first bombshell, in the form of blonde stunner Janey.
But it appears the newbies will be coming even quicker than they do in the Love Island villa in this show.
We've just seen in the trailer for tomorrow night's episode that a new man/ dad is set to enter the retreat.
Whose eye will he catch? Can he turn heads?
Things are definitely starting to spice up!
A dating show with a difference
It was originally touted as the 'middle aged Love Island'.
But unlike the iconic ITV2 series, My Mum, Your Dad focuses on a group of single parents who have been nominated by their kids to find love again.
The mums and dads all live together in a gorgeous country retreat, all in the hope of forging some new relationships and giving them a second chance at finding a partner.
Pink lady
Here we go. Janey appears to be My Mum, Your Dad's first bombshell.
The kids are certainly switched on to what is going down.
"Is she a bombshell? She has to be a bombshell!" they all squealed.
Roger's daughter Jess is certain she'll catch Roger's eye. Could this be the lady to mend the widower's broken heart?
A little green-eyed perhaps?
The kids think Clayton is delighted for Paul and Natalie after they spilled the beans on their water yoga date to him.
Clayton's son Christian has, however, described Paul as a 'dark horse', adding that there is nowt wrong with a spot of competition.
People: We have our first love triangle.
What if...
Devil's advocate... but what if the parents fall in love AND their kids do too?
Paul and Natalie seemed to get on well. But so did Mazy and Kaliel.
My mind is running away, but that could end up a bit weird. No?
Pulling for a chat
The fellas around the pool are clearly keeping their options open.
As they say in Love Island, they have decided not to put all their eggs in one basket.
And the kids seem to be totally onboard with their parents playing the field and getting to know everyone.
The likes of Adam Collard would be impressed.
SNT vibes
Anyone else getting Saturday Night Takeaway vibes from this date?
Ear piece? Spying? Secret instructions?
If they were famous, I'd be forgiven for thinking it was I'm A Celebrity Get Out Of My Ear.
Side note, the date seems to be going well.
Elliot's still got it
Well, if that little poolside display of exercise didn't prove just why Elliot is a PE teacher, nothing would.
What a silver fox. And a fit one at that. (Physically, obvs)
She's got style
In case you were wondering, Davina has given us the info we all wanted to know.
Where her outfit in tonight's show is from, of course!
Date time
Stand up paddle-boarding yoga. For a first date.
Whoever is picked is going to have a splashing good time, that's for sure.
Let's just hope the wetsuits are forgiving for all concerned and that waterproof mascara is readily available in the retreat before they set off...
Davina fan club
There's a lotta love going on for host Davina McCall tonight - especially after her pep talk with poor Monique.
She was ready with the tissues and a big hug when her daughter Taiya wasn't able to be.
Summing it up, one fan has posted on X - formerly known as Twitter: "#MyMumYourDad is the sweetest programme I can’t cope with it.
"@ThisisDavina the perfect person to do this."
Multiple heartbreak
Poor Monique has obviously had a rough ride with her past relationships.
And now she has admitted to Davina that she has the added pressure of her late-father making her promise to "find love".
Ooosh. If only it was that easy, eh...?
Tears are flowing
That chat with Davina clearly hit a raw nerve with Monique.
What made her run out sobbing?
It can't have been easy for her poor daughter Taiya to watch either.
Are any of these mums and dads ready for love again?!
First date tears
Poor Roger has admitted to making Caroline cry on their first date.
Some feel he isn't ready for the dating scene again following his wife's tragic death from cancer.
Caroline seems willing to support him, but Davina is clearly wondering the same.
What do you think, guys? Too soon?
Shock twist
The singletons are in for a shock tonight as a new bombshell enters the retreat.
The lady will be seen arriving with her daughter before turning a few heads.
Exciting!
