EMMERDALE fans have 'worked out' Tom King's shocking secret after his carjack horror.

During Thursday's episode of the ITV soap, Tom - played by James Chase - bought a new sports car.

Later, he got a call from the veterinary surgery to go out on a job, so he headed home to get his work bag.

However, before he could get inside he was confronted by a man who demanded his car keys.

When Tom refused, a second thug appeared and grabbed the keys before knocking the young vet to the ground.

Tom was left with a cut to his head but when girlfriend Belle Dingle arrived and rushed to check if he was OK, he refused to call an ambulance.

Despite Belle's concern, Tom ended up snapping at her, and his actions prompted Emmerdale fans to think there is more to the situation than he is letting on.

Taking to social media, one wrote: "Tom knows who’s taken the car #emmerdale."

Another added: "Tried to stop them? What part? Wouldn't surprise me if this was staged. Tom King hasn't shown his true colours yet."

A third commented: "Got the feeling Tom knows who nicked his car. Insurance job."

Meanwhile a fourth shared: "Tom must have known who attacked him #Emmerdale."

Tom returned to the village earlier this year after 10 years off screen.

James took over the role from Mark Flanagan, who had played Tom from 2012 to 2013.
