THIS Morning star Alison Hammond was ‘put in her place’ by her co-star on today’s show, after she laughed about an escaped ‘terrorist.’
Daniel Abed Khalife, 22, was hanging upside-down in his red chequered chef’s trousers when a van was waved through the front gates at HMP Wandsworth in South West London.
A manhunt was later launched after his disappearance was noticed.
And discussing the escaped prisoner during a segment with co-star Gyles Brandreth, Alison giggled as she talked about the story.
She introduced the segment by saying: “I can see this being made into a bit of a film you know.
“The escaped prisoner is still on the loose with no confirmed sightings.”

Alison then started to laugh as she said police had accidentally detained a lookalike yesterday, adding: “Sorry I shouldn’t be laughing.”
Dermot defended his co-presenter and said: “I know but it is comic because it’s so…”
Alison continued to say she wanted to see the clip of the man being accidentally detained, adding: “I’m going to go straight online afterwards.”
Gyles wasn’t impressed, as he told Alison she was “glamourising” the escaped prisoner.

He said: “We have to guard, don’t we Alison, against glamourising this as you were saying you were looking forward to the movie.”
Alison placed her hand over her mouth and said: “No I know, I’m so sorry.”
Gyles continued: “It becomes a mixture of a Carry On film and The Day of the Jackal, the way you’re telling it.
“It’s a serious story.”
Fans praised Gyles for “putting Alison in her place,” after he told her to take it seriously.
This Morning viewers shared their thoughts about the moment online, with one writing: “Well if the producers aren’t going to tell Alison Hammond to be professional at least Giles did…”
Another said: “About time, Gyles pulling Alison up on laughing through a serious story.”
A third echoed: “And this is why she shouldn’t present!! Laughing at a serious issue.”
A fourth person wrote: “Gyles won’t be on Alison’s Christmas card list after telling her off,” and another person commented: “Why are they glamourising this terrorist? Alison laughing her way through the story, wtf?”
