Loose Women star Ruth Langsford updates fans after being forced to miss the NTAs amid persistent illness
LOOSE Women star Ruth Langsford missed out on the NTAs after battling a persistent illness.
The presenter has a chest infection and cough, which doesn't seem to be shifting - despite trying plenty of remedies.
Her co-stars represented the show at last night's National Television Awards, but her absence didn't go unnoticed.
Loose Women were one of the shows nominated for the Daytime award at the ceremony.
They were piped to the post by The Repair Shop.
Ruth shared a reel of her homemade remedies after she was given recommendations by fans.

She boiled turmeric, ginger, lemon, orange, whiskey, cinnamon and cloves in her kitchen.
Ruth warned followers to be careful when using turmeric as it stains fingers and worktops.
"Thank you to everyone sending me home made remedies for this damn chest infection and cough," she wrote.
She's also been sent a care package full of throat pastilles from one company.

Her producers posed beside a cardboard cut out of Ruth, who told them that she was "with them in spirit".
She has been bedridden, but has been enjoying the company of her dog who she called her "sick bed companion".
She recently told fans: "My 'lurgy' is actually a chest infection! So here I am on antibiotics and a steam vaporiser twice a day!"
Alongside the post, she shared a short clip of the vaporiser in action, before another shortly after showed a box of lemon, ginger leaf and manuka tea with Ruth writing: '"I'm trying everything!"
Meanwhile, earlier in the week Ruth told fans that she "had the lurgy", and was doing her best to get better.
The telly favourite has been a regular on Loose Women since 1999.
She was on our screens until 2002, and rejoined the team for a year in 2010.
