JEFF Brazier was left sobbing at the National Television Awards last night after his son Bobby picked up the gong for Rising Star - saying: "I was a mess".
The proud dad, 44, was overcome with emotion as his eldest boy took home the award for his performance on BBC's EastEnders.
Jeff could be seen looking emotional in the audience after it was announced that Bobby, 20, had won best newcomer.
He later told The Sun: “I was a mess. I knew I was going to cry, I tried to stop myself but seeing him up there…
"Words can’t describe how I feel. He’s some boy. I’m incredibly proud of him.”
Strictly's Bobby - who is the son of late Big Brother star Jade Goody - was full of praise for his dad and his co-stars.

“My dad is a massive part of me, all of this. He’s as much to do with this as I am," he told us.
“It is a great privilege to be in this position. My first acting gig to learn from these incredible people.
"Being a Slater is the best bit about the job.
The show is in a great place. We won three out of three awards. I love everyone dearly.

He is currently on a break from the soap as he is set to appear on Strictly Come Dancing later this month.
But the actor, son of TV’s Jeff Brazier and late reality telly star Jade Goody, is looking forward to returning to Albert Square.
He said: “I’ll be going back to EastEnders as soon as Strictly is over. I love that show and I want to do more with Freddie.
“I’ve been at EastEnders for a year now and straight away people made me feel at home.
“I think that was a huge part of the reason I progressed as an actor. They are so sweet and loving and affectionate.”
EastEnders enjoyed a stellar evening at the awards bash, taking home three major honours.
Danielle Harold won the Serial Drama Performance for her turn as Lola Pearce, who died of a brain tumour.
And the BBC soap put the misery of its dwindling ratings to one side to beat ITV rival Coronation Street to the Serial Drama award.
