Good Morning Britain was forced to make a last minute change to its presenting line-up today.
Charlotte Hawkins was drafted in to partner Ed Balls after Susanna Reid lost her voice at the National Television Awards.
The change was announced at the top of the show with Charlotte saying: "Good morning to you, this is a bit of an unscheduled appearance for me this morning."
Ed was left baffled by the switch after seeing Susanna earlier in the morning.
He said: "I was about to say, you know, I came into the studio as usual about 4:30am. Walked past Susanna Reid's dressing room. There was Susanna, as always, in her white dressing gown, getting ready for the show to come. This feels like a bit of a change!"
Charlotte, who was also at the prestigious telly industry event inside London's O2 with her co-stars, said: "The reason is, because you saw Susanna there, but we couldn't hear her because she has unfortunately lost her voice. She is here in the building with us. Here she is, Susanna, how are you?"

A hoarse Susanna, who dazzled at the event in a glamorous red dress, explained: "I'm fine, I just can't speak!
"I don't know whether it was the heat, inflaming my vocal cords. It's funny because of course it was the NTAs last night and when I got my cab to leave, the driver said: 'You're the very first person to leave the NTAs, you're obviously not partying'. Of course, I don't drink, I don't smoke, so there's no reason I can understand why I've completely lost my voice."
Charlotte responded: "The irony of it, we were all there together last night. You left first, you hadn't been drinking anything, I didn't leave as early as I should have done."
Susanna continued: "I'm really sorry, I can only apologise, but thank you Charlotte for stepping in! I didn't want to inflict this on our wonderful viewers for a whole three hours."
