Huge TV chef’s son lands major cooking show aged just 12

COOKING is clearly in the blood of Jamie Oliver's family – and his 12-year-old son Buddy is proving it.

The youngster will follow in his famous dad’s culinary footsteps with his own cookery show for the BBC.

Buddy’s new programme will see him teach other kids how to rustle up family-friendly recipes.

It comes after the success of his YouTube tutorials, Cooking Buddies.

The talented lad has notched up an impressive 133,000 subscribers on the channel since he and his dad started the venture two years ago.

But unlike the at-home videos, filmed in the family kitchen or garden greenhouse, Buddy’s now got his own full-scale production.

An insider revealed: “Buddy has taken all of his dad’s experience on board and is about to put it into play with his own cookery show.

“He’s already had great success with content on YouTube and Instagram.

“Jamie’s fans have long been asking for his son to have his own show for their kids to enjoy.

“The series will see Buddy joined in the kitchen by other children as he teaches recipes and gives helpful tips to youngsters on how to get started with cooking.”

Buddy will be going it alone for the project — and not relying on his famous father’s success.

My source added: “Buddy is the star of the show.

“Jamie is keen for his son to prove himself to telly audiences, not just live off the family name.

Showcase his skills

“So Buddy’s got to showcase his technical skills and presenting ability.

“But if his YouTube work is anything to go by, it’ll be natural for him.”

Buddy’s not the first to follow in the footsteps of a famous chef parent.

Gordon Ramsey's daughter Tilly presented her own show, Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch before wowing us with her dancing on Strictly in 2021.

The CBBC series, which also included Ramsay siblings Jack, Megan and Holly, aired for five series from 2015.

Mo's in the big league

NEW boy Mo Gilligan looks right at home on the panel of A League Of Their Own.

Yesterday I exclusively revealed that the comedian had signed up for the Sky quiz show.

He will join show veteran Jamie Redknapp's red team.

Luckily for Mo, he’s not the only newcomer.

Lionesses legend Jill Scott heads up the blue team with help from England right-back Micah Richards.

Mo has settled in quickly too, posing with his blue team rivals and fellow comedian show host Romesh Ranganathan, ahead of the new series.

And they will be joined by a whole host of fresh faces, including Last Leg star Alex Brooker, King Gary actor Tom Davis and footballer Daniel Sturridge.

A League Of Their Own returns next month on Sky Max.

Miranda's back

TWO cast members have been confirmed for the Netflix remake of movie Chicken Run.

Miranda Richardson, who was in the original, will return as Mrs Tweedy, while Peter SerafinowIcz will join as Reginald Smith.

Chicken Run: Dawn Of The Nugget will stream on December 15.

BBC hit's copped series 2

FILMING for the second series of Bafta-nominated crime drama The Responder kicked off this week.

After the success of the first series on BBC One last January, the follow-up will see Martin Freeman back as a bobby on the beat.

He will be rejoined on by Adelayo Adedayo, Myanna Buring, Warren Brown, Emily Fairn and Josh Finan for another five-parter.

The show’s writer, ex-cop Tony Schumacher, said: “Gathering the characters around me has been a delight, and seeing them brought to life by so many incredible people fills me with excitement.

“I can’t wait for you to see them too!”

The first series of The Responder is on BBC iPlayer.

Strictly tribute for Len

STRICTLY Come Dancing chiefs are planning a tribute to late judge Len Goodman for the new series.

Len, who died of cancer at the age of 78 in April, was honoured with a dedicated routine by the pros when he left the telly dance contest in 2016.

But for this series’ tribute, the cast of the BBC One programme will reveal their fondest anecdotes of the Strictly legend in a video which will be played on the show.

A source told me: “Len will be remembered in the launch show by some of the cast, including presenters, judges and pros who will talk about their memories of the beloved head judge.

“There will be some classic archive clips of Len including the dance that was dedicated to him when he bid the show farewell in 2016.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this month.

Dog days are over

THE last episode of Paul O’Grady’s For The Love Of Dogs that the entertainer made shortly before his death will air on ITV next Thursday.

In the show, Paul meets some dogs who are struggling to find a home – two of the pups have been returned once, and just don’t seem cut out for normal homes.

Stefan's keeping it mean

IT just wouldn’t be Neighbours without Stefan Dennis’ cold-hearted Paul Robinson.

So fans will be pleased to know the actor has no plans to play the nice guy as the show returns to screens this month.

It’s all part of his wider plan to keep the show authentically Aussie, and prevent any “Americanisation” of their famous characters.

Stefan says: “Paul’s pretty mean at the moment, which is a good thing.

“The fans will be pleased because Paul is up to his usual shenanigans.

“They vowed to keep it the old way.

“The reason we’re iconic and the reason we’re unique to the rest of the world, is because we are the quirky Australian show.

“Don’t change it.”

Neighbours will return to Amazon Freevee on September 18.

Callum getting his way

IT’S A Sin’s Callum Scott Howells has transformed himself for a upcoming gritty BBC drama role.

The West End actor, who played mild-mannered tailor Colin Morris-Jones in the Channel 4 series, will be seen in his new show looking a little rougher round the edges.

Dressed in a hoodie with bleached hair, his character – a member of the Driscoll family, who are central to the show – is seen screaming at an armed police officer in first-look scenes.

The drama sees him caught up in a fictional town’s civil uprising, which forces the Driscolls to flee their home.
