A PLACE in the Sun's Laura Hamilton nearly got taken out by flying debris while filming in Italy during a bout of nightmare weather.

The 41-year-old presenter was shooting an episode of the Channel 4 reality show in the fairy-tale region of Puglia when she got blasted by strong winds and an umbrella almost knocked her over.

She took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes clip of the dramatic moment when she was nearly injured.

Laura captioned it writing: "Today we nearly got taken out by an umbrella!"

In the video she can be seen interviewing a guest when the incident happens.

The blonde telly personality comments on the bad weather, saying: "I mean look it's slightly windy but -"

She was then cut off as an umbrella came flying at her, only missing by a few inches.

Laura screamed and ducked to get away from the debris, before continuing: "I was about to say it's slightly windy and you can hear it whistling but that breeze is quite nice, not we're going to get knocked out by the umbrella. Jesus. Christ."

But plucky presenter has a good sense of humour and was able to laugh about the incident with her crew later on.

She told her fans on Instagram: "I've had a load of comments from people about the umbrella that took off.

"That was yesterday morning when we were looking at the luxury house. We were just laughing last night watching back through the footage.

"We have a lot of fun on location. Lots of things happen that don't make it to the TV show."

She also assured viewers that she will be sharing more behind-the-scenes clips from the house-hunting series in the future.
