IT'S been revealed that The Tower's Mark Brannon actor is related to a legendary EastEnders and Grange Hill star.

The ITV drama is back for a second season, with Charley Palmer Rothwell staring as Mark Brannon.

The actor, 31, is from Bethnal Green and is the son of Patsy Palmer, a legendary EastEnders character best known for portraying Bianca Jackson on the BBC soap.

Before making her final appearance in 2019, Bianca returned to Walford in 2008 for a further six years.

Charley will play Matthew Brannon, Georgina's partner, who is charged with abusing her and terrorising their small daughter Skye.

Based on the novels written by Kate London, who also serves as the show's executive producer, the first season of The Tower premiered in 2021.

Most notably, Charley played Baz Vegas in the BBC drama Our Girl from 2013 to 2014.

In addition, he played Redkin Jake in Ripper Street (2016) and Tristan Davies in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (2022).

Charley has also appeared in movies such as Legend, Dunkirk, Darkest Hour, and Beast.

It comes after in 2021, viewers were disappointed by the last "anti-climatic" series finale.
