Monty Don flooded with support from Gardeners’ World fans as he pays tribute to ‘much missed’ companion
MONTY Don has been flooded with support from his fans after he paid tribute to his 'much missed' companion.
The Gardeners' World star took the opportunity of International Dog Day to remember his beloved pet pooch.
Monty, 68, is known for his love of his faithful canine companions and he's been blessed to have had company of a number over the years.
He currently shares three dogs with his wife Sarah, two Golden Retrievers named Ned and Nell and and a Yorkshire terrier named Patti.
The star previously had another Golden Retriever, Nigel, who also appeared on the show, however he sadly passed away in 2020.
But before all these dogs, Monty was accompanied by two miniature dachshunds at his Longmeadow property.

Neither Brenda and Peggy liked to be filmed for the popular BBC nature series and so Monty opted to keep them out of the spotlight.
However the Official Gardener's World magazine page shared an adorable picture of his former best friend on their account on X - formerly known as Twitter.
They shared the sweet image of Brenda sitting in a wheelbarrow alongside a commemorative article on dog friendly gardens for International Dog Day.
The BBC personality commented below the post as he wrote: "Ah lovely picture of Brenda. Much missed."

And fans flooded the star with support as they paid tribute to the late pup below the post.
One user exclaimed: "Oh bless!"

As a third fan poignantly wrote: "So sweet but never a t.v. star, just a much loved pet."
