Doctors rushed to save her life as Amy's panicked family waited for news.

Amy's blood pressure was dangerously low after sepsis gripped her body - and she has very little memory of her time in hospital.

After surviving the life-threatening illness, Amy has now returned home.

She told Magazine: "I just got very, very unlucky," she says. "I’m also more prone to infections because my Crohn’s means I have a lower immune system.

“The doctors and nurses were telling me I had sepsis and that it was life-threatening, but I wasn’t taking it in.

"I didn’t become properly aware until later. I told my dad: 'I’ve got sepsis' and he said: 'I know!'."

Amy met up to thank the paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service who recognised her symptoms and ultimately helped save her life.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy, 33, was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May.

She's been having chemotherapy but told fans she's been allowed to go home after a stay in hospital.
