It means fans will be forced to wait a lot longer to catch a glimpse of Ben Shephard and Bradley Walsh in action.

Fans waiting to see The Chase will have an extra 90 minutes to fill as a result of the schedule change.

ITV has followed a tradition over the last 12 months of booting the teatime favourites out of their regular slots on the Bank Holiday.

Tipping Point will be pushed back an hour to air at 5pm.

More on The Chase

It is then expected to be followed by a shortened 30 minute version of ITV News to take the schedule up to 6:30pm.

The Chase will then begin airing before being followed by Emmerdale in its regular 7:30pm slot.

Popular Chaser Mark Labbett recently opened up about his earnings on The Chase and confessed he and his co-stars can often make as much money as "Premier League footballers".

Mark and his co-stars, Anne HegertyDarragh EnnisShaun Wallace, Paul Sinha, and Jenny Ryan, are paid a flat sum per episode.

As a result, when the week-long series Beat The Chasers airs, the TV stars earn extra money.

Mark told the  about filming the spin-off series at the National Reality TV Awards: "That's the week we earn like Premier League footballs, so of course I'll do it."

He continued: "If I could get away with it I'd purge half of them because the fewer Chasers there are, the more money I get."
