Gemma Atkinson reveals real reason she wants Gorka to have chemistry with his dance partner despite Strictly curse
GEMMA Atkinson has revealed she wants her fiancé Gorka Marquez to have chemistry with his partner on Strictly Come Dancing – despite the infamous curse.
The 38-year-old, who met Gorka through the show, admits she’s very ‘chilled’ about him dancing with other women and says they have to have a spark to be successful in the competition.
She explained: “I remember when I had to dance the rumba with Aljaž. Everyone said, ‘You have to look into his eyes and get close,’ and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is awful!’.
"But the dance looked rubbish because I didn’t do it.
"So then I remember saying to Helen [Skelton], ‘You’ve got to be passionate with Gorka, that’s part of the dance.’ I’m always rooting for them to have chemistry!”
Gemma added to : “I think Gorka and I are very lucky in that we’re both understanding of each other’s jobs. We’re chilled.”

The former Hollyoaks actress met Gorka on the show back in 2017 and they now have two children together – Mia and most recently, Thiago.
The "curse" is a phenomenon that hits celebrities and their dance partners during their time on Strictly Come Dancing.
Due to the harsh schedules, sexy dance moves and close quarters with their partners, their off-screen romances sometimes suffer as a result.
