Paul sadly died earlier this year in news that shocked the TV and entertainment world.

Last night's repeat of his 2020 series left many of his fans emotional at seeing him back on screen after his passing.

Many went onto share how seeing the show and knowing that the TV presenter is also not around to watch along too had made his death "hit home".

One fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Just watching Paul O’Grady’s Great British Escape… and bloody hell, it hits home how much the world has lost without him being in it."

Another shared: "Wonderful show by our adopted son in Paul O'Grady showing us our Kent Life. #Kent."

As a third penned: "I want to watch but can't upsets me so much."

While a fourth admitted it was "heartbreaking", writing: "I didn’t actually think a celebrity's passing would affect me much but I was totally wrong, I generally struggle to see Paul O’Grady on my screen. Truly heartbreaking. What a man."

However, this will not be the final series of Paul's to be seen this year on ITV.

Paul travelled through Thailand last year as he filmed a two-part series showcasing the country's many elephant rescue centres.

The show, called Paul O'Grady's Great Elephant Adventure, will broadcast on ITV1 this autumn.

It will see the star get stuck in as he roles his sleeves up and helps out.

Paul also heads out from the sanctuaries to grab a slice of local life by exploring nearby colourful markets, temples, apothecaries and sampling the local cuisine.

Each episode highlights a particular challenge faced by elephants in the region and - as ever - Paul’s love for animals shines throughout the series.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Paul had died as a result of cardiac arrhythmia following a history of heart problems.
