THE WANTED singer Max George fought back tears on last night’s episode of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars as he dedicated his win to bandmate and close friend Tom Parker.
Max, 34, fulfilled Tom’s dying wish as he won thousands for charity on the ITV game show. Tom tragically passed away in March 2022 after a long battle with Brain Cancer.
On Sunday night’s episode of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, Max faced off against Loose Women’s Linda Robson and Labour MP Jess Phillips to get to the final.
He hoped to bag the £20,000 jackpot, but eventually opted to stick with the winnings he had rather than risk it all.
In the end, Max won £6,900 for his chosen charity, which is especially close to his heart.
The Wanted singer told ITV host Ben Shephard, “I am happy with that. That was the right decision.”

Ben then enquired about where his winnings would be going. “It’s going to a really special charity. Can you share who it is going to?” he asked.
Max started to get emotional as he replied, “It is going to the Brain Tumour Charity.”
He continued: “My very, very close friend, Tom, passed away recently from a brain tumour, and they’re at the forefront of brain tumour research.”
Fighting back tears, Max addressed Ben and said: “And also, Ben, I want to say thank you to you because I asked you a while ago if we could get Tom on the show, and that’s why I’m here today.”

“So thanks to you,” he added. “I’m really, really happy with that.”
Touched by the tribute, Ben replied: “I’m really thrilled that you got to come and play in his memory.
“I remember what a great guy he was, and he loved the show, so I am chuffed to bits you could be here for him.
“And £6,900 will make a big difference to the charity,” the Tipping Point host concluded.
Tipping Point: Lucky Stars is available to watch on the ITV Hub.
