And yesterday Bobby confirmed the news, telling BBC Breakfast: "I'm excited for a change, I love to dance. To perform live will be scary, daunting, but there's a real difference between acting and dancing live and having time to prepare.
"It is going to be a rush I haven't felt before. I just like to party that's it really, house and disco. I have good rhythm but as far as ballroom and Latin, in terms of proper dancing, I've not done much."
Bobby is best known for his role as Freddie, son of Maureen "Little Mo" Slater in EastEnders.
Bobby, born to Jade and TV star Jeff Brazier, first started work as a model but has since turned to acting.
Jade shot to fame on Big Brother in 2002 and died of cervical cancer in 2009.
The Strictly line-up so far also includes EastEnders actor Nigel Harman, tennis star Annabel Croft, former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and Paralympic champion Jody Cundy, as well as BBC Asian Network's Breakfast Show host Nikita Kanda, actress Amanda Abbington, Bad Education star Layton Williams and broadcaster Angela Rippon.
They will be joined on the dancefloor by journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy, comedian Eddie Kadi, Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon and former Love Island star Zara McDermott.
Bobby is the new 4/1 favourite to win Strictly according to bookmakers.
A spokesperson said: “We have a new Strictly Come Dancing favourite after the latest round of new celebrities was announced on Wednesday morning and Eastenders star Bobby Brazier is the 4/1 market leader to win this year’s show. Brazier knocks Nikita Kanda off top spot and now she’s 6/1 with Layton Williams 5/1.”
