EASTENDERS fans received something they have wanted for the last five years, the return of Yolande.
Actress Angela Wynter first joined the cast of the BBC serial drama in 2003 but made a dramatic return last night (07 August).
She initially stayed on EastEnders for five years, departing in 2008 as the character moved to Birmingham and Patrick received divorce papers.
Viewers last saw her in 2017 when she appeared in two episodes of the long running London soap.
She came back to support Denise - played by - in the Minute Mart business and she briefly reconnected with Patrick.
But Patrick - played by Rudolph Walker CBE - looked completely stone faced as she strutted back into their house in Albert Square.

He announced that he was leaving Walford to try and locate Yolande to win her back.
However, she returned after she was kicked out of her partner’s property in Birmingham after he found out about their secret affair.
Meanwhile, fans could not be more delighted now that one of their favourite characters has made their comeback, and they took to social media with delight.
One wrote: "Yolande just never ages #EastEnders Please make her a permanent character 😩❗️"

Eager viewers wanted the comeback to be for the long-term, and as it turns out she will be returning to EastEnders in a permanent capacity.
Angela exclaimed: "I have been really looking forward to playing her again and have had a beautiful time on set so far.
"I can’t thank the cast and crew enough for the warm welcome back."
