Viewers know he has already killed Leo and Teddy Thompkins and Rufus Donahue in cold blood.

Now he can be seen riding in the back of Tim Metcalfe’s taxi before something happens that spooks Tim and he pulls over and flees.

Stephen gives chase and tracks Tim to some wasteland where a fight kicks off.

In harrowing pictures Stephen gets the upper hand and wraps a cable around Tim’s neck.

A source said: “Stephen thinks he’s got away with all his killings and misdeeds.

Earlier this year Coronation Street boss Iain Macleod teased Stephen’s comeuppance.

Asked whether Stephen will be caught, he said: "Of course he is.

“It's a soap, bad guys always get their comeuppance in the end, don't they? So yes, 100%. There's a lot of fun to be had between now and then I will say."
