BBC Breakfast duo announce they’re ‘taking break’ from hosting together
TWO BBC Breakfast co-stars have revealed they're "taking a break" from presenting together.
Rick Edwards, 44 and Rachel Burden, 48 were announced as the new hosts of the popular show BBC 5 Live back in September 2021.
It appears the duo will now be hosting the show separately.
Rachel announced that she will be "taking a break" from Rick after returning to BBC Breakfast to co-host with Ben Thompson.
Taking to Twitter, Rachel told her followers: "We're on a break for a few weeks (holidays/other work stuff), so enjoy the rest of the summer - we'll be back together in September," while tagging Rick in the snap.
Fans reacted quickly to the news that the duo was "taking a break" from each other.

"For clarity - a break from each other (unrelated to lava lamps*)" Rachel quickly explained.
"One of us should be in the @bbc5live studios at least throughout the summer," Rick wrote, "*related to lava lamps."
It comes after a funny on-air spat between the two as they attempted to make their own lava lamps, during which an irritated Rick yelled at Rachel for doing it better than him.
