What happened to Harriet in Emmerdale?
NICOLA King left villagers and viewers baffled after planning the installation of a bus stop in tribute to Harriet Finch and Liv Flaherty.
But who was the Emmerdale character and what happened to her? Here's your reminder.
Who was Harriet Finch in Emmerdale?
Portrayed by Katherine Dow Blyton, Harriet Finch was a long-standing resident in the ITV village.
She first arrived in the Dales in November, 2013, to see her mother's cousin Edna Birch before quickly being announced as the new vicar of Saint Mary's Church.
But before her Emmerdale debut, Harriet had a tumultuous life as a policewoman and an even more explosive history with former drug dealer Will Taylor (played by Dean Andrews).
Harriet had embarked on a relationship with Will while undercover and using the name "Michelle."
More Emmerdale
She became particularly close with his daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley) but their bond deteriorated when she brought him down.
After being instated as the village vicar, Harriet became romantically involved with Ashley Thomas but her most memorable romances remains the one she shared with Emmerdale bad boy Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in 2017.
Harriet decided to call it quits once and for all with Cain when Moira (Natalie J. Robb) gave birth to their son Isaac but he put up a fight and they eventually managed to work on things.
However, Harriet was plagued with jealous thoughts as Cain made it clear he would be spending time with both Isaac and Moira.

Soon after, Cain realised how much he truly loved Moira and broke things off with Harriet for good, prompting her to reunite with Will and Dawn in 2018.
The trio became involved in another dramatic storyline when Harriet's former colleague DI Mark Malone came to the village before being killed by Dawn during a heated altercation.

How did Harriet Finch die in Emmerdale?
During her later years in the eponymous Dales, Harriet Finch joined the force again, leaving Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) to take her place as vicar.
In late 2022, Harriet made it clear she still harboured feelings for Will who, at this point, was engaged to Kim Tate (Claire King).
Harriet tried to find solace in the form of Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) who became interested in her after she welcomed him and his daughter Amelia (Daisy Campbell) into her home.
The policewoman didn't feel much chemistry with the mechanic but when a pregnant Amelia went missing as a storm began to rip through the village, Harriet set off on her quad bike to find her.
Little did she know at the time that Kim, who had tied the knot with Will hours prior, was also searching for Amelia on her land.
Sadly, Harriet got into difficulty with her quad bike and was flung off the vehicle before landing at the bottom of a hill.
While she was able to stand back up unharmed, the quad bike was struck by lighting and exploded as it fell from above her, crushing her in the process.
Kim Tate was a witness to Harriet's demise as she also suffered from her own wounds during the storm.
She was finally able to go back to Home Farm where she announced Harriet's death and a distraught Will blamed her for the tragedy.
Harriet passed away in October, 2022, amid Emmerdale's 50th anniversary celebrations and she was the first fatality in the show's Storm Week.
