Netflix star drops huge hint axed show is returning for series two as he reunites with co-star in Ibiza
NETFLIX's White Lines was axed three years ago after just one series - but the Ibiza based thriller has been teased to return.
The drama about an unsolved murder on the White Isle in the 1990s was a huge hit for the streaming giant back in May 2020.
It starred Downton Abbey's Laura Haddock as librarian Zoe, who travels to Ibiza to investigate the unsolved death of her brother Axel decades earlier.
Former Line of Duty actor Daniel Mays played the grown-up version of his best friend Marcus, and controversial actor Laurence Fox starred as hippy drug dealer David in the English-Spanish modern-day whodunit.
Daniel has long pined for a second series, but his co-star Angela Griffin previously squashed rumours of a sequel when she revealed the show had been "tied up nicely" leaving nowhere for another instalment to go.
However, Daniel has given fans fresh hope, as he reunited with another star of the drama in Ibiza.

He posed with Spanish actress Marta Milans who played mysterious Kika, the sister of Oriol who dated Axel when he died.
Daniel and Marta flashed huge grins in the snap, which he captioned: "A roof top terrace rehearsal for Marcus and Kika in prep for #WhiteLines 2 or an innocent and LONG overdue reunion with the one and only @martamilans?
"Either or, we are in Ibiza! Hhmmmm? I’ll stop teasing now. Amazing to see you Marta after so long.
"Nothing but the best of memories working with you on our crazy show."
Referring to his character surviving torture in one gruesome scene, Daniel added: "Hey, Marcus would even agree to have his other leg broken to do it all over again!
"Favourite role. Favourite gig (think I might’ve mentioned that before!) Till next time darlin’"
His followers shared their excitment and some pondered where the storyline could be explored further.
One said: "Would Kika find out that Marcus was part of Axel's death? Will Zoe stay in Ibiza with Boxer or return to her family back home? Ahhhhh we need series 2 please!"
“None of it’s been properly resolved. I don’t wanna give away too much but, yeah I’m just pitching for a second series.”
However, former Corrie actress Angela, who played sex-party organiser Anna, said: “Will there be a series two of White Lines? I don’t think so.

"I wish there was but it’s very quiet on the White Lines hotline.
“My gut feeling is that it was left in a place where it is nicely tied up. I think that is where it is going to stay. Sorry to say.”
