BBC BREAKFAST star Carol Kirkwood has announced huge career news away from the show.

The presenter has been part of the corporation's flagship morning programme since it's launch in 1983.

But now Carol, 61, has shared an exciting update with her 59,000 followers on social media.

The BBC Breakfast star took to her Instagram story as she shared the cover of her juicy new book, Secrets of the Villa Amore.

She captioned the post: "Secrets of the Villa Amore is out today in hardback, ebook and audiobook!

"Enjoy some guaranteed sunshine and escape to the Amalfi coast for sun, secrets and scandal..."

Carol also took to her grid page where she boasted about the new 'blockbuster' tale.

The former Strictly Come Dancing competitor wrote: "Book 3! Secrets of the Villa Amore: the brand new blockbuster for 2023! Out today! ❤️❤️xxx."

And it seems that her famous pals and fans are loving the new direction of her career after she decided to become an author in 2021, alongside her work at the publicly funded broadcaster.

Former co-star Louise Minchin wrote: "👏👏👏."

Tennis player turned BBC broadcaster Tracy Austin commented: "Loving Book #2!🔥🔥❤️ Can’t wait for book #3."

Whilst one fan said: "Can't wait, loved the other 2 books😍 Thank you Carol Xx."
