BBC Breakfast pulled off BBC One in major schedule shake-up as third presenter missing from sofa this week

BBC BREAKFAST has been pulled off BBC One in a major schedule shake-up.

The flagship morning show typically airs between 6am and 9:15am each day on BBC One.

However, this morning viewers were informed the programme had been dropped from the main channel.

Instead fans had to cross over to BBC Two for their helping of BBC Breakfast.

The move is due to the Beeb making room in the schedule for the Fifa Women's World Cup 2023.

In another shake-up, Charlie Stayt was nowhere to be seen on the iconic red sofa.

Naga Munchetty, who had been absent last week, was back on air and presented with Ben Thompson.

Ben posted a selfie with Naga on his official Twitter account as he told followers about the channel hop.

He said: "We’re jumping over from @BBCOne to @BBCTwo now, where we’ll be with you until 9am…. to make way for the Women’s World Cup.

"Find your remote, and join us."

Jon Kay, who presents BBC Breakfast with Sally Nugent from Mondays to Wednesdays, is currently off air.

He's taken two weeks annual leave as he enjoys a well-deserved holiday with his family.

Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has also been missing from the show all week.

The BBC's Matt Taylor has been standing in for the beloved host.
