GOOD Morning Britain anchor Susanna Reid choked back tears as she chatted to "incredible" friend and cancer campaigner Suki Thompson.
Suki, who has been diagnosed with cancer four times over the past 15 years, has juggled her diagnosis with fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.
As Susanna, 52, introduced the emotional Good Morning Britain segment with her "close" friend, she told how Suki's illness is now terminal.
Suki was captured in a hospital bed in Cornwall accompanied by her daughter.
As Susanna asked about her situation and the disease, Suki bravely said: "I am very close to the end of my journey I guess."
She told how the last time she saw the Good Morning Britain host was when she could walk, and enjoy a stroll to the cafe.

The pair then talked about Suki's vital campaign work with Trinny Woodall, 59.
Suki's latest cancer came in the form of a mole on the side of her foot, which she initially believed was a wart.
She was given verruca cream to treat it before she was told that she had cancer which had spread to her brain.
Clearly feeling emotional, Susanna told her: "It's been a privilege knowing you and being friends with you."

She then hailed her pal as an "incredible person" and added: "What you are doing is so so remarkable. Huge love to you and the family.
"And just keep going, keep going. Human sunshine."
In an equally touching moment, brave Suki replied: "I am so inspired by having a friend like you Susanna."
Brushing the comment off while fighting back tears, Susanna said: "You're the inspiration."
Fans at home were quick to praise both Susanna and her pal for the valuable segment.
One posted of Suki: "Brave lady."
Another wrote: "Suki. Very brave and courageous lady. Amazing and inspirational."
A third then confessed: "The interview with Suki Thompson really taught me something and I’m grateful to see it."
One then gushed: "What a great friend Susanna is! As loyal as she is beautiful".
Another then mused: "Listening to Suki’s sun protection message on #GMB whilst knowing she’s in her final days of cancer is heartbreaking.
"I’ve always used moisturisers & foundation with SPF but I’m sure could do more. I’m getting a growing skin tag & mole checked before removal. Don’t leave them."
Last month, Suki posted an emotional video to her Instagram page showing her holding hands with Susanna on a beach.
She wrote in her heart-wrenching caption: "Friends are so important to our wellbeing, and @susannareid100 is one of the best.
"Susanna inspires me to always ask the important questions in life, even when that is not the easiest way forward.
"We must always look to see the best in people, even when you may disagree."
Earlier in the episode, Susanna's co-host Martin Lewis suffered an on-air blunder - meaning she had to take over.
Today Martin was tasked with explaining the drop in the UK inflation rate and its impact for Brits.
The Consumer Price Index level of inflation decreased to 7.9% from 8.7% in May, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Yet after a busy morning analysing facts and figures, Martin was clearly ready for breakfast.
During a weather segment where he was off-camera, he took the chance to munch an apple.
Yet unfortunately he got his timings wrong - and was seen with his mouth full live on air.
He spluttered to his co-presenter: "I'm eating an apple.
"Can you read this Susanna?"
Taking the reigns, Susanna completed the link before the programme moved on.
