Ant McPartlin leaves conservationists fuming after applying to hack down ‘jungle’ spoiling garden view at £6m mansion
I’M a Celebrity host Ant McPartlin has bugged conservationists by applying to hack down a jungle spoiling his garden view.
Ant, 47, and his wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, want to fell six trees at their £6million seven-bedroom mansion.
They hope to cut down four cypress trees, a Weymouth pine and a yew, despite their being subject to tree protection orders.
But the couple have been accused of setting out to fell healthy trees on a whim.
One letter of objection from a residents’ group sent to their council reads: “It appears that the trees are protected by a tree preservation order.
“No justification is given for felling these substantial trees, other than the applicant’s wish to allow re-landscaping of part of her garden.

“There is no suggestion that any of the trees are dangerous or diseased.
“The personal whim of the applicant should not override the benefit to the community and the environment in retaining these trees.
“We therefore request you to reject this application.”
Ant and Marie moved into the home in South West London in 2019, a year after they got together, and quickly embarked on a major refurbishment.

They added a swimming pool with Victorian-style changing room and two single-storey extensions.
The three-storey luxury home also has five reception rooms, a large open-plan kitchen, cinema, sun room, larder, walk-in wardrobe, study and office.
But the pair recently lost a battle with planners to demolish the property’s double garage and build a replacement with accommodation above.
Planners said it would not fit in with the conservation area.
Ant and co-host Declan Donnelly, 47, recently signed a £30 million golden handcuffs deal to stay with ITV for another three years.
Ant was approached for comment yesterday.
