Casualty viewers ‘get goosebumps’ after huge format shake-up in special NHS episode
CASUALTY viewers got 'goosebumps' after tonight's episode kicked off in an unusual way.
The medical drama celebrated 75 years of the NHS with a special show dedicated to our frontline heroes working in emergency services.

Real interviews with NHS staff were weaved through the opening scene, showcasing the vital work that they do.
Teddy Gowan (Milo Clarke) was first on the scene of a catastrophic motorbike crash - leaving fans on the edges of their seat.
"I have goosebumps omg," one wrote while another added: "Already tonight's BBC Casualty is standing head and shoulders above the rest of all Medical Dramas".
"Yoooo this episode is gonna make me so emotional," a third added, while a fourth wrote: "Loving this episode already. It's so real. Like watching Ambulance and 24hrs in A&E!"

The episode followed the motorbike rider's accident, which resulted in him needing his leg to be amputated.

Throughout the episode, it was clear that the producers wanted to focus on real-life goings on within hospitals throughout the country from staff shortages to abusive patients.
Some were confused with the mixture of real-life NHS workers on the episode when they first switched on, with one saying: "Thought I'd sat on the remote and accidentally changed the channel for a mo."
Not everyone liked the style of the episode, with some saying that the mixture of "fact and fiction" didn't work and was distracting from the storyline.
"Admirable attempt to mark the anniversary of the NHS but this technique doesn't work as it takes you out of the drama," one viewer offered.
