Celebs Go Dating chaos as Love Island winner turns down five figure fee for show after bitter split with co-star

CELEBS Go Dating has lost out on a high profile Love Island star despite offering him a whopping five-figure fee.

Bosses for the E4 show sprang into action when news broke that Davide Sanclimenti had split with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

They pinned their hopes on the Italian model entering the new series as a late arrival, as filming is already underway.

But despite offering 27-year-old Davide a massive pay cheque to take part, he walked away.

A source exclusively tells The Sun Online: "Davide was approached by show bosses as soon as the split with Ekin-Su went public.

"They offered a five-figure fee to join this year’s show as a late arrival.

"But he turned them down. It’s too soon for him. He’s gone home to Italy instead."

The Sun Online has approached Celebs Go Dating for comment.

Davide and Ekin won last summer's series of Love Island and were living together in London when they announced their split.

The news of their breakup came days before Davide was caught on camera pouring a suspicious substance onto his left hand before inhaling it through one nostril while holding down the other.

A reveller in Hï Ibiza nightclub filmed the Italian businessman just three days after he confirmed his break-up with Ekin on social media.

A rep for the Love Island star insisted Davide was snorting snuff in the pictures exclusively revealed by The Sun.

Davide later released his own statement on the matter.

He wrote: "Ciao everyone. You may have seen some stories about me over my trip in Ibiza.

"It was no secret that the last few weeks have been difficult for me.

"There was a speculation about my behaviour and a video which was questionable, however below the surface of this I did something that’s not nice to see and was not acting like myself."

He continued: “The true story is not what has been described from a couple of pictures.

“I found myself in awkward situations, in a vulnerable state.

“All I can say now is that I want to move on and focus on my career, my wellbeing and my loved ones.

“I hugely appreciated the many supportive messages around me. Thank you. Davide Xx.”

Earlier this week, Davide and Ekin awkwardly came face to face at the London premiere for the movie Barbie.

The exes were on the pink carpet when they suddenly found themselves next to each other.

Ekin, 28, shot Davide a horrified glance, muttered something and quickly walked away in the opposite direction.
