This Morning’s Dermot O’Leary apologises after extremely offensive word repeatedly appears on air
THIS Morning's Dermot O'Leary was forced to apologise today after a man appeared on the show wearing a hat plastered in the C-word.
Roving reporter Josie Gibson, 38, interviewed a couple of campers for a pre-recorded segment.
However, what producers appeared not to have spotted is that the man's cowboy hat was absolutely covered in the word "c***".
Instead, it fell to viewers to point out that the black hat with white text deserved closer scrutiny.
It appeared as part of the competition segment, where Josie was interviewing campervan owners - because the show was giving one away.
Today, after the This Morning competition aired, host Dermot, 50, said sorry on air.
He said: "We'd like to apologise for any offensive language you might have seen in the competitions earlier this week."
Alison Hammond, who has been co-presenting This Morning with Dermot all week, sat beside him looking solemn.
The rude word went out unedited on air, though we have blurred it out in our pictures above.
The hat didn't appear in Friday's competition. However, it was widely shared online by trouble-making viewers.
One seemed more amused than offended, writing: "For everyone who missed the bad language featured in the competition VTs throughout the past week. What a fabulous hat!!"
