A CONTESTANT who appeared on Take Me Out has hit out at the show's editing as he admitted to making a big mistake with the ladies.
The ITV series focused on a single man arriving in the “Love Lift”, who had to convince 30 girls to keep their lights on for him.
After several rounds, he could choose a girl from those left to take on a date to the Isle of Fernando’s — a fictional location in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife.
It was presented by Top Gear's Paddy McGuinness who famously used his catchphrase "no likey, no lighty" on the show.
But one contestant has revealed producers did him dirty with the editing of his episode.
In a TikTok video, Ben, who was 21 when he appeared on the dating show, said: "Did I choose One Direction lift music?

"No I didn't, I actually wanted Backstreet Boys.
"They somehow edited the whole introductory video that they play to all the girls, really not in my favour."
Ben went on to reveal behind the scenes secrets of the now axed programme.
He said: "I don't know if I'll get in trouble for saying this but you didn't get to see the girls [before appearing on stage].

"You did do a practice, you went down the love lift and you kind of walked out and there was no girls there.
"Other than that, you're straight out and it's like a deer in headlights with all these birds staring at you and judging you."
In an epic blunder, Ben switched off the light of a girl he actually fancied.
He told: "I actually messed up, I actually switched off the girl who I wanted to take out."
However, love was not lost as he went on to say that he actually dated the girl for a short period of time.
