Retired business analyst Dabi and retired childminder Devi both wanted to swap the grey skies of Croydon for the sunshine and heat.

After four years of saving and with their children all-grown up, they had a budget of £180k to go for their dream on A Place In The Sun.

They were looking for their dream property in the seaside town of Gandia in Valencia with interior designer Lee Juggurnauth, 35.

They told the host that they were looking for a second home with two to three bedrooms with a garden, private pool and a stunning view.

But as property expert showed the duo the different options, they may have just found the perfect home to change their life.

At the end of the process, the second property that they chose, was on the market for £179k.

However the contributing couple tried their luck and put in a "cheeky offer" of only £160K, leaving fans of the show raging.

Devi insisted that she wanted an open plan kitchen and a heated pool, but the offer was swiftly rejected as the pair wanted the full asking price.
