HEAT viewers were left 'losing the will to live' just minutes into Danny Dyer's brand new drama.
The show made its debut on Channel 5 last night as the former EastEnders star returned to acting.
Heat unfolds on the backdrop of a looming Australian bushfire when two families who are long-time friends, venture to a secluded home for a summer vacation.
As secrets and lies unravel it becomes a tinderbox – and not everyone will make it out alive.
While the drama unfolds inside the house, on the outside is a raging bushfire gripping the vegetation surrounding the luxurious mansion.
However, viewers weren't immediately gripped on the show - with some picking up the remote and switching off.

"I cannot believe I've left this on. It's terrible but I think I'm invested enough to watch the whole episode #Heat," said a third.
While a fourth commented: "Channel 5 really do not seem to be able to make a non-cringe drama. This is terrible. #heat."

That wasn't the only complaint from fans last night as they struggled with Danny Dyer's character.
Viewers pointed out how Steve has a strong cockney accent while his wife and kids are Australian.
It led Channel 5 fans to question if Danny can 'only do once accent' as others said it was like watching Mick Carter in EastEnders.
However, some viewers did enjoy the show, with one saying: "#Heat is good, I'm excited, I know why Danny left #eastenders now, broaden the horizons."
A second wrote: "I liked #Heat ... lots of secrets to come out over the next 3 nights."
Heat continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5, with the dramatic finale airing on Friday evening.
