Both journalists brought viewers the latest news from across the UK and the world.

During one part of the show, BBC Breakfast covered the news that the Ford Fiesta car model is being discontinued.

The Sun had exclusively revealed last year how the manufacturer had decided to scrap the beloved vehicle.

The Ford Fiesta was first launched in the summer of 1976.

A Ford spokesperson said of the decision: "Fiesta has been a beloved icon and a faithful friend for millions of drivers but tastes are changing.

“People want high-riding crossovers — and we play to win.”

Charlie, 60, and Naga, 48 introduced a video package that documented the history of the car.

However, Beeb fans and motor enthusiasts quickly noticed how the show incorrectly described one model - and showed the wrong pictures.

Footage of the American version of the car were mistakenly broadcast, leading fans to comment on social media.

One said: "That's the American Ford Fiesta...... Jesus, can't you get anything right?"

A second wrote: "#BBCBreakfast shoddy. Mk 1 is 'mark 1' and Mk 7 is 'mark 7'."

"Mark 1 you morons not mk1, followed by a picture of an American spec fiesta," said a third.

While a fourth commented: "MK1 is a postcode in Milton Keynes."

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
