Inside ITV’s Big Brother reboot including huge change for contestants
OVER the years, Big Brother spawned countless moments that are forever etched into TV history.
But viewers are unlikely to see famous scenes like Kinga’swinebottle scandal and Makosi and Anthony’s jacuzzi fumble again because I can reveal ITV has brought in a watertight training programme for the show’s housemates.
The channel has prepared a “super-sized” welfare package to drill the participants of their reboot on everything from diversity and inclusion, racism and gender diversity to sexual consent and dealing with conflict.
I am told that this new programme goes far beyond the already robust training laid on for Love Island’s young singles.
A source said: “Love Island’s provision is already considered the Fort Knox of training but ITV knows how important the re-launch of such a loved programme as Big Brother is.
“And of course it’s been a fairly difficult time for the channel with recent events on This Morning, so everyone is determined the brand won’t be rocked by any further scandal.

“But I have to say, while nobody wants any participants regretting their actions on TV, there is rising concern that the reboot is turning into a tightly-regulated woke-fest.
“No chance of any wine bottles or pregnancy tests these days!”
ITV announced last year that it was rebooting the legendary reality TV show, which ran from 2000 to 2011 on Channel 4 before moving to Channel 5 until its axe in 2018.
Then in March, Will Best and AJ Odudu, who co-presented the show’s spin-off Bit On The Side in 2013, were announced as hosts after months of intense speculation.

And fans were thrilled to hear that Big Brother’s original narrator Marcus Bentley, who has covered every single episode since the show began in 2000, will be back for the re-launch.
So it’s not all bad news.
Dan on his near death
DAN WALKER has revealed he had an out-of-body experience after his horror bike crash.
The 5 News host said it happened while paramedics fought to save his life after a collision with a car in February.
The 5 News host explained: “I had a strange experience where I was watching myself on the floor then eventually I came back into my body.”
Dan has opened up on the near-death collision in an exclusive chat with The Sun’s TV Mag, free in the newspaper on Saturday.
He adds: “It was a sort of reset moment for me.”
The ex-BBC Breakfast host has proven himself a good hire with his new Channel 5 job, having boosted the audience by 30 per cent.
Dan said: “If you get that genuine nature to r news and there’s integrity, I think that’s what the audience crave.
“ I love making telly that really sings to the people who are watching and is aligned to the audience.”
BBC goes back two paradise
BEYOND Paradise fans will soon get to see what’s next for Humphrey and Martha.
Filming has already begun on series two of the BBC One crime drama following its popular debut season in.
A Christmas special will first pick up where the series left off, as the couple, played by Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton, headed on a make-or-break trip to Saint Marie.
It will be followed shortly after by a second series, which will see a new inspector solving a crime on a steam train, along with an arson predicted by a medium and the disappearance of a fisherman.
Kris said of its return: “It’s a delight to join up with my fellow police team for another batch of weird and wonderful cases, and to see what’s in store for Humphrey and Martha.”
Ruth: We may Gav another
RUTH JONES has teased a potential return for Gavin & Stacey.
She reckoned another special episode of the hit BBC sitcom could happen now her co-writer James Corden is back in the UK.
The former Late Late Show host and Ruth were last seen as Smithy and Nessa in the Christmas special in 2019 – which ended with a cliffhanger proposal for the on-off couple.
Ruth says she won’t rule out a new episode.
She said: “James is coming back, but there have not been any plans.

“People go, ‘You can’t leave that series ending like that, with us not knowing.’
“I quite like the idea of leaving it to people’s imaginations.”
