THE boss of the Byker Grove reboot has teased an epic return by Ant and Dec as some of their most iconic characters.
The television presenter duo first met on the set of the CBBC drama Byker Grove in 1990.
Ant and Dec previously confirmed they’re bringing back the iconic show, 17 years after it was last seen on our screens.
The drama centered on a youth club in Newcastle and made stars of Ant McPartlin, 47, and Declan Donnelly, 47.
They later used their character names of PJ & Duncan from the show to launch a pop career.
And now Leo Pearlman, managing partner of the series production company, Fullwell 73 has hinted the duo may make a return with their characters in the reboot.

"So, we're in the early stages of development, but I would love to have some of the old cast members pop back in," he explained.
"We're working hard on Ant and Dec to see what they're willing to [do], whether they are willing to pop back in as PJ and Duncan.
"I'd love to have all those nostalgic elements being revisited."
Meanwhile, the pair made a shock announcement in a video by going back to where it all began.

Upon revealing they were rebooting the show, Dec exclaimed: "Byker Grove will always be very special to us as the show which gave us our break, so we are beyond excited.
"We are looking forward to bringing this fresh incarnation to a whole new generation as well as those who remember it as fondly as we do."
However towards the end of the clip, he pondered where the duo might be today.
In the announcement video, he commented: "I wonder where PJ and Duncan are nowadays and if they'll pop into the grove on their way past?
But Ant seemed to put cold water on the rumour: "I wouldn't have thought so, I think PJ now is performing at Wembley stadium with his platinum selling rap album."
Dec then joked: "As you can probably tell, storyline development is at a very early stage."
Byker Grove originally aired from 1989 until 2006, with Ant and Dec starring in it from 1989 until 1993.
In 1994, the pair released the hit single, Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble, as their show namesakes which reached number 9 in the charts.
Later in 2013, the do performed the song at the end of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway as part of the End of the Show Show segment on ITV.
