Who is Kat Slater’s daughter in EastEnders and how many children does she have?

KAT SLATER first graced our TV screens in 2000.

Since then she has become one of EastEnders' most iconic characters, famed for answering the phrase "You ain't my mother" with the words "Yes, I am".

Who is Kat Slater in EastEnders?

Kathleen Slater, more commonly known as Kat, arrived in Albert Square along with her extended family in September 2000.

Her parents are Charlie and Viv Slater, her grandmother is Big Mo - and when she was first introduced to viewers, Kat had four sisters.

Older sister Belinda, who did not appear in the soap until a year after the family arrived, and Lynne, Little Mo, and Zoe.

However, it wasn't long before it was revealed that one of her "sisters" wasn't exactly that.

Kat's known for her short skirts, leopard print tops, make up and heavy fake tan appearance.

The much-loved character was previously married to Alfie Moon and engaged to Andy Hunter.

Kat is engaged to Phil Mitchell.

How many children does Kat Slater have?

Kat has six children.

They are:

Why did Kat and Zoe Slater fall out?

Zoe was raised by her Charlie, Kat's father and Zoe's biological grandfather.

She believed Kat was her sister.

On October 2, 2001, Kat's little sis informs the family that she is leaving for Spain to work with "Uncle Harry".

After Kat yells at her that she was not going, Zoe screams back: "You can't tell me what to do, you ain't my mother!"

The episode ends with the famous line "Yes I am" before the EastEnders "duff duff" theme chimed in.

Kat had been raped by her Uncle Harry at the age of 13, resulting in her pregnancy with twins Zoe and Dermott.

Shocked by the revelations, Zoe runs away, but is persuaded to return home by Little Mo.

An argument ensues between Zoe and Kat, causing her to run away a second time.

Zoe ends up on the streets and is nearly persuaded to turn to prostitution by Roxy Drake before Kat comes and picks her up.

Zoe gets engaged to Anthony Trueman and leaves again but later returns and falls pregnant.

After an altercation, Zoe later believes she killed Dennis Rickman after hitting him with a doorstep.

However, Dennis was actually killed by his wife Chrissie.

After being told the truth by Sam Mitchell, Zoe leaves for Ibiza and has an emotional goodbye with Kat.

In 2015, Kat reveals Zoe moved to Spain and hopes to save up and visit her.

However, Stacey tells Kat that Zoe doesn't want to see her due to her new job and boyfriend, meaning Zoe feels that she wants to move on in her life.

Kat eventually moves to Spain and tries to see Zoe, however her daughter rejects her leaving her mother devastated.

Who is Kat Slater married to now?

Kat was meant to marry Phil Mitchell in September 2022, but the arrival of her former husband Alfie Moon put a spanner in the works.

The drama kicks off after the former couple's twins, Bert and Ernie, hide on their father's canal boat, leaving Kat with no option but to fetch them.

The twins refuse to get off the boat and they set sail – leaving Phil waiting at the altar alone.

The twins admit to sabotaging the boat in order to prevent the wedding going forward.

Kat refuses Alfie's advances and eventually sets off towards the church.

Phil also has to contend with his ex-wife Sharon Watts.

Sharon tries to persuade Phil he is marrying the wrong woman before Kat arrives at the wedding - late.

Eventually, Kat and Phil have a conversation on whether the wedding will go ahead.

They later announce to their guests: "We've talked it through and we've set another date with the vicar, so consider yourselves invited!"

Are Phil and Kat still together?

Kat and Phil, played by Steve McFadden, are still engaged.

The pair have put their wedding day disaster behind them and announced a new date.

In February 2023, the BBC teased that the rescheduled wedding date was December 25.
