Shadrach was played by Andy Devine and was Zak Dingle's older brother and father of Chas Dingle and Gennie Walker.
Cain Dingle also believed that Shadrach was his father too however he later discovered that Zak was his real dad.
But, in July 2010, Shadrach died after he fell into a river following his long battle with alcohol which also affected his liver.
Then Shadrach reappeared seven years later in a flashback sequence between his ex-wife Faith and stepson Cain.
The scene took place in the 1980s and Shadrach was portrayed by actor Matt Sutton.
The scene showed Shadrach's brutal beating of his partner Faith and almost punching Cain, who was still a child at the time.
Since then, Cain has mentioned on several occasions that Shadrach was violent towards him in the past.
Actor Matt also played the role of PC Nicholas Palmer in Emmerdale in January 2008.
He has previously starred in Doctors playing the role of Charlie Cash in an episode which aired in 2014.
