DIDDLY SQUATTER

Jeremy Clarkson’s farmer sidekick Kaleb Cooper waits on council permission over caravan plot

CLARKSON’S Farm star Kaleb Cooper is hoping for permission to live on his own smallholding.

Kaleb, who became famous for helping the petrol-head turn his hand to agriculture, has a four-acre plot nearby.

He says either he or another worker need to live on site to care for his pigs, chickens and calves.

Kaleb, 27, has a 38ft caravan, currently used as an office, which already has a bathroom and plant pots outside.

He has applied for retroactive planning permission from West Oxfordshire District Council.

If granted, it will last for two years while he establishes the business.

Down-to-earth Kaleb — who with girlfriend Tara has a two-year-old son and a newborn daughter — quickly became a favourite with fans of the hit Amazon series for his no-nonsense advice.

He is going on tour around the UK next year after releasing his debut book The World According to Kaleb.

Grand Tour host and Sun columnist Clarkson, 63, has had a string of battles over his plans for Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton — especially attempts to build a restaurant.

Earlier this month the council’s decision to stop him extending a car park to cope with growing visitor numbers at the farm shop was overturned on appeal.
