But this year Emmerdale fans were thrilled when the soap hinted at a comeback for Ben’s character Scott.
When his younger sister Cathy began suffering from a severe mental illness, Scott stepped in off-screen to invite her to live with him in the Lake District.
She is currently staying with him in the Lakes.
Bosses have confirmed that Cathy will return - but it has left fans hoping that her big brother will come with her.
