BBC viewers were left in tears as Rose Ayling-Ellis reflected on her mum's " profound impact" in her powerful Signs for Change documentary.
The actress shot to fame playing Frankie Lewis in EastEnders - but after two years on the soap opera, she left Albert Square in 2022 to explore new challenges.
Rose fought back tears as she recalled how her mother Donna was adamant about teaching her British Sign Language despite professional's telling her not to.
The star told BBC viewers: "It's funny because you wouldn't think it at the time, but that was a really profound moment in my life."
"I never, ever considered acting as a career for me ever until that weekend.
"Mum did not want me to grow up not being confident and I think she was really determined I was confident in who I am - my mum did that."

Rose said, "Oh, gosh," as her voice broke with emotion, while holding back tears.
Viewers were also left in tears as they watched the powerful documentary and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
