BBC breaks silence as fans spot ‘sexist’ Red Dwarf episode is missing from iPlayer as beloved comedy returns to screens
THE BBC has broken its silence as fans spotted a 'sexist' Red Dwarf episode is missing from the iPlayer.
The beloved comedy series, which stars Craig Charles, is now available to watch since its release in 1988.
It means fans can binge Rob Grant and Doug Naylor’s space comedy on the iPlayer.
However, viewers have noticed how an episode from series eight, called Krytie TV, is not available to watch.
The episode sees Kyrten, who was played by Robert Llewellyn, start his own private TV station.
Viewers have previously called out the episode for having 'sexist' dialogue against the show's only female lead, Kochanski.

While fans have speculated that's why the episode hasn't made it to air, the BBC have released a statement.
A spokesperson confirmed it was merely down to a technical error and is now available to stream.
Fans took to social media to question why the episode was not included in the original release.
One said: "Is Krytie TV too controversial for iPlayer? I can imagine it doesn’t play well nowadays."

A second wrote: "I wonder what the issue is with Krytie TV? I know the plot for that particular episode hasn’t exactly aged well but even so it seems a bit extreme to just drop it completely."
"I’ve heard from some people that ‘Krytie TV’ isn’t on iplayer. Not that I care as it’s probably the worst episode I saw," said a third.
Red Dwarf is available to stream now on iPlayer.
