But that isn't the only warning the BBC gardening star has given his followers after being bombarded with questions.

In his Twitter bio, Monty wrote: "I am afraid that I do not answer gardening queries via Twitter!"

However, his comment hasn't stopped keen amateur gardeners from tweeting him questions and pictures of their plants and vegetables in the hope of getting help with their query.

It comes after Monty took to the social media platform as fans clamoured to see his personal property.

While Monty regularly shows off his own garden on social media and Gardeners' World, he warned that despite his openness on his programmes, he is not willing to share his private gardens with the general public.

The garden writer tweeted: "Can I make clear that LONGMEADOW IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Not on Fridays or any other day. You can 'visit' via GW only."

Later, he added: "No. Absolutely not. Longmeadow is a private garden and is not open to be visited by anyone at any time."

One fan asked for a rough plan of the garden as they had trouble 'visualising' all the different gardens and paths.

However the nature expert was not having any of it as he clarified: "A plan has been printed on a number of occasions in GW magazine."

Another fan wrote to Monty as they said: "I can't tell you how much I would love to visit Longmeadow it would be on my wish list if it were possible. Must be frustrating for you it's your private space but it's also public."

But the TV personality wrote back that their wish will not happen: "Not possible I am afraid. Public only on the screen."
