Channel 4 has axed a number of programmes in recent weeks in order to keep costs down.

The network will now not be bringing back The Big Breakfast despite a successful reboot last summer.

The legendary programme, which originally aired throughout the 1990s and the early 2000s, returned for a one-off edition in 2021 before enjoying a summer run on Saturday mornings last year.

AJ Odudu and Mo Gilligan fronted the reboot to highly favourable reviews.

However, TVZone have now reported that the show has been axed for good.

AJ and Mo presented the revived show throughout the summer of 2022.

They were joined by regular star Judi Love who conducted interviews on the show's infamous bed as well as being joined by one of the programme's stars of the 90s, newsreader Phil Gayle.

Among some of the guests on the latest run were Gemma Collins, Big Zuu, AJ Tracey and Melvin Odoom as well as a whole host of musical performances in the show's Garden.

The reboot contained a mix of nostalgia as the show's set paid homage to its predecessor as well as through items such as Family of the Week, as well as making use of new games such as Apples and Pears.

The Big Breakfast was most famously hosted by Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan.

Other hosts included Gaby Roslin, Chris Evans and Richard Bacon.
